my MAKEUP portfolio
I have been playing with makeup for as long as I can remember. I love bright and colourful eyeshadow and dramatic winged eyeliner. I taught myself how to apply makeup, going on to do my friends prom makeup, to editorial makeup for photoshoots, to character makeup for short films and high end TV. With makeup, I find that there's always new techniques I can learn and new skills I can develop. I particularly enjoy working in film and TV as I love seeing the transformation of a person from being themselves to being a character that was originally just described in a script.

CHARACTER MAKEUP
Hellpline, 2018
I did my own makeup for the character 'Luna the Ghost'. The idea was to make her glamorous yet spooky. I also assisted with the design and application of the other characters makeup, including the application of contact lenses and the removal of prosthetics. This was a production with the BFI Film Academy Birmingham.
Digi-Fest, 2018
While taking part in the BFI Film Academy Birmingham, we had to host on a public event in order to achieve our Silver Arts Awards. We each chose a 'specialism' within the event, I chose face painting.
First Bite, 2019
I came back to work for the BFI Film Academy as a production co-ordinator, but somehow got roped in as an actor again. I designed the look of my character 'Olivia' who turns into a zombie, but I had the prosthetics for my character applied to me. Once the prosthetics were on I refined the beauty elements to the look such as tidying up the eyebrows and lipstick. I also assisted with the application of contact lenses with the other characters.
Willow, 2021
I worked in the crowd room for large crowd scenes, notably in episodes 1 and 5. Most of the looks I worked on were quite natural appearing or slightly muddy. I would give the guards little pig-tails under their helmets to keep their hair off their faces. I applied and derigged facial hair on the nockmaar priests. I applied fake tan, fake mud, and a hand made spray on the bonereavers so they looked like they had a healthy natural glow. I made hair pieces for the bonereavers to add extra volume to their hair. I also helped run the crowd room during the scenes with villagers and nobles.
Sweeney Todd, 2022
I worked with It's My Shout and Bridgend Youth Theatre as a Hair and Makeup Assistant on their theatre production of Sweeney Todd. I loved applying gothic style makeup on the main cast and helping the younger cast with their makeup.
SFX/PROSTHETIC MAKEUP
I've applied bruise makeup, tattoo cover, fake mud, and fake tan (airbrush and cream). I have made large and small batches of fake mud in all sorts of colours from brown to green. I've even had to colour match to a specific shade of mud. I've also filled probondo moulds, made cap-plastic sheets, and made fake skin using liquid latex and paper towels.
